DIY Oatmeal Cinnamon Sugar Scrub

DIY Oatmeal Cinnamon Sugar Scrub

Hi creative souls! Have you thought about making your own sugar scrub? It's a fun & easy craft that will also make a wonderful holiday gift, and you can make it with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry!

Step 1: Activate Creativity

Assemble your materials. Turn on your favorite playlist or podcast, grab a glass of wine or a cup of tea – do whatever you do that brings you that magical, creative flow. Go ahead, lose your head in the clouds.

Step 2: Prep Space & Measure Ingredients

This project is deliciously simple but the result is fantastic -you’ll never buy sugar scrub again! To begin, lay out all of your ingredients. Use the chart below to measure how much you’ll need. In your kit, you'll find that we've already pre-measured the ingredients in the amounts we recommend; however, feel free to add more or less of anything based on your preferences. One note: we found that if we used any less olive oil, the scrub would harden at room temperature, so we recommend adding the recommended amount of olive oil.

Step 3: Melt Coconut Oil & Mix Together

If your coconut oil is hardened, place in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. Once the coconut oil is in liquid form, you can add in the oatmeal, cinnamon, sugar, and olive oil. Stir. Then, pour into your amber colored jars.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Enjoy - it’s that easy! Add fabric, ribbon, and a cinnamon stick to the outside of your jar for looks, if you wish. Enjoy in your home, or gift to a loved one over the holidays.

Step 5: Stir for Thicker Consistency

When you first create your scrub, it will probably seem rather oily from the olive oil. However, the coconut oil will harden as it cools, which will create a thicker consistency. We also recommend stirring the scrub a couple times over the course of the next 24 hours, and that will also help create a thicker consistency.

Step 6: Admire Your Work, You Creative Genius

Once complete, step back and admire your work. Remember, it's all about enjoying the creative process. Don’t criticize your work: it's perfectly imperfect. Love it, cherish it, or at the very least, gift it to a family member. Lastly, help inspire others to create: take a picture, upload to Instagram/TikTok/Pinterest and use the hashtag #papercloudsescape. If you tag us on Instagram showing the creative process or your final product, we will send you a 20% discount for your next order.
